Yue Fei (1103–1142) was a famous general during the Song dynasty. When Yue was coming of age, there was a fight between Song and the Jurchen (女真) people from the north. He had to care for his elderly mother, but he also wanted to defend his motherland.Yue’s mother encouraged him to go to the battlefield and tattooed four characters into his back. They read, “serve the country with the utmost loyalty”. With these words in mind, he achieved many military successes.
