    It’sbeen30yearssinceCongressrevisedUSpatentlawstoencourageuniversitiestoembracetheworldofcommerce.Criticspredictedthattheintegrityofacademicresearchwouldbecompromisedbypatent-grubbingandattemptstobuildcompaniesaroundthelatestlaboratoryfindings.Butsuchfearsdidnotcometrue,saysanewreportfromtheNationalAcademicsreleasedMonday.Thepanel—chairedbyMarkWrighton.ChancellorofWashingtonUniversityinSt.Louis—examinedavastfileofscholarlyworkonhowuniversitieshavemanagedintellectualpropertyinthewakeofthe1980Bayh-DoleActandconcludedthatthingsareprettymuchhunky-dory(极好的)rightnow.Or,asthereportsays:
